I decided to put all of my bicycling stories on this new blog. Everything is still on my origional blog, . I recognize how non-consistent my blog is..somewhat like my mind (lol).
I was super into sewing, then gardening, then crafting, then biking...with everything mixed in. sooo...this will be my bicycle page :)
And speaking of bicycling: I have had the worst last 3 rides.
ride 1: didnt want to ride. forced myself out the door. got a flat. walked home 3 miles.
ride 2: new regular tube on. I rode and noticed THE thorn, and I didn't even go off road. I stayed on the trails and roads. I always want to pull out the thorn! I've done both. I've pulled out the thorn and immediately the air leaks outand I've pulled out the thorn and nothing happens. I've also left in the thorn..which eventually will be a slow leak, maybe.
I was so far out w/out a pump that I decided to leave it in.
I made it home and the next morning the tube was flat.
ride 3: tube flat from previous ride...I only have green patches so I attempted to patch the hole. I might have over-inflated the tube when I put the patch on. Anyways, I rode out and started to get a soft tire. I immediatley turned around and headed towards home. This time I brought the extra patch and blue tool to take off the tire. I made it to the Chevron station and filled the tire up with air so I could keep going. 3 blocks later I heard the air excape, fast this time. I walked the rest of the way home.
The next day: I went to Kevins bike shop and bought 2 thorn resistant tubes.
There are so many thorn plants all around town.. I'm hoping the thorn resistant will keep me from getting flats.
